Ranking & evaluation of agency profiles
How the rating is calculated: reviews from various sources are bundled together
OMR Reviews displays reviews and an average rating for listed agencies. These reviews do not come directly from our platform, but are aggregated from publicly available sources.
In this article, you will find the following content 👇
Source of data
The reviews come from various established platforms such as:
-
Google Maps
-
Trustpilot
-
Sortlist
-
Clutch
-
ProvenExpert
-
Goodfirms
-
Agenturtipp
All platforms are included in the evaluation with equal weighting.
If you have good reviews on these platforms, you will also rise in the OMR Reviews ranking. This applies regardless of whether you are a free or paid partner.
How we calculate the OMR Score
The reviews from various sources form the data basis. We don’t simply calculate an unweighted average from this data; instead, we use our own proprietary algorithm to calculate the OMR Score. That’s why your displayed rating may differ slightly from individual platforms, even if the number of reviews is the same.
Why we weight instead of just averaging
A simple average penalizes agencies that have consistently collected many good reviews over the years and rewards profiles that can only show a few top ratings. An agency with two 5-star reviews would otherwise have the same average as an agency with 64 reviews and an average of 4.9, and would even move up in the rankings. This would not be helpful for clients looking for a reliable partner.
Our OMR Score therefore weights both the number and the quality of the reviews. This way, the ranking reflects not only individual top scores but also consistency and substance over time.
Even a single source is weighted
Even if your agency has collected reviews on only one of the connected platforms, these are included in the OMR Score and weighted using the same logic. This ensures that all profiles on OMR Reviews are evaluated comparably, regardless of how many sources their reviews come from.
Presentation on OMR Reviews
The reviews are visible in two central locations on the platform:
1. On the agency profile
-
Average rating (e.g., ⭐ 4.6)
-
Number of reviews taken into account (e.g., “(32 reviews)”)
-
Tooltip with a note on the data source:
“The number of reviews and the average rating of the provider are derived in part or in full from external sources.”

2. On category and overview pages
-
Agencies are sorted within their category according to their average rating.
-
Agencies with higher ratings appear higher up.
-
Agencies without usable external reviews are listed further down accordingly.
No individual reviews or specific platform sources are displayed – only the aggregated average and total number.

FAQs
-
Why does our agency not have a rating on OMR Reviews?
If no (or too few) reviews are found on the connected external platforms, no rating can be displayed.
-
How often are the reviews updated?
The data is updated at regular intervals by our partner.
-
Can users submit reviews directly on OMR Reviews?
No, currently there is no option on OMR Reviews to submit reviews for agencies directly via the platform. The reviews displayed come exclusively from external sources. A separate review function for agencies on OMR Reviews is in the planning stage.
-
Can I see which platform the reviews come from?
No, only aggregated data is displayed (average rating + number of reviews).
-
Why does my OMR score differ from my rating on Google, Trustpilot, or Sortlist?
The OMR score is not a simple average of the sources, but a weighted calculation. It takes into account both the number and quality of the reviews. This is why there may be slight variations across individual platforms, even if the number of reviews is the same.
-
Why don't agencies with only a few 5-star reviews automatically rank at the top?
Because our ranking system rewards consistency. Two perfect reviews aren't enough to outrank agencies with dozens of consistently good reviews. This provides a fairer picture of actual performance.
-
Will my score still be weighted if I only have reviews from a single platform?
Yes. Even if your reviews come exclusively from a single source, they are weighted in the same way. This ensures that comparisons between agencies with different numbers of sources remain consistent.
