Leader Badge explained

The Leader Badge is awarded quarterly and is based on user ratings. It recognizes the leading tool by OMR score, which is made up of the number, average rating and recency of the ratings. Your tool can therefore be recognized as a leader in several categories (main and subcategories).

In contrast to the Top Rated Badge, which several tools can receive in their main category, the Leader Badge is only awarded once per category - but a tool can receive it in several categories.

Tools that are awarded the Leader Badge have received a significant number of positive user reviews in their category. These only become statistically relevant and enable a meaningful comparison with other tools once there are enough reviews. In this way, we ensure that the award is based on a solid evaluation basis.

Badge-1

Your tool receives the Leader Badge if it achieves the highest OMR score in a category based on the number of ratings, average rating and recency. The award for the current quarter is always based on the ratings collected in the previous quarter.

The Leader Badge will go live on your product profile in the quarter in which your tool is awarded. You will also receive the badge URLs in PNG and SVG format by email so that you can use them for your social proof marketing on your own channels.

Special features when awarding the Leader Badge

  • For the first award in a new or low-rated category, the Leader Badge is only awarded once a tool has achieved at least 10 ratings in this category. The decisive factor remains: If another tool achieves a higher OMR score, it receives the award.
  • The awarding of the Leader Badge cannot be predicted exactly, as the number of ratings and the average rating in the respective categories can change dynamically until the end of the quarter.
  • Normally, only one Leader Badge is awarded per category. However, our software guides are an exception: here, all tools that have made it into the Leader quadrant (top right) in the OMR Reviews Grid receive the award.

How the Leader Badge and Top Rated Badge differ

The Leader Badge is awarded to the tool with the highest OMR score within a category. Your tool can be recognized as a leader in the main category as well as in several subcategories.

The Top Rated Badge, on the other hand, is only awarded in the main category. All tools that achieve at least ten ratings with an average NPS of 8 or 4 stars in the course of a quarter receive this award.
