Best Practice: LinkedIn Outreach

LinkedIn messages that deliver value instead of pitching – how to start real conversations

The Buyer Intent Score in the OMRviewer helps you identify companies that are particularly active on OMR Reviews.

A high score tells you: this company is in the middle of its research phase and has already had multiple touchpoints with relevant content, categories, or profiles. That’s a strong signal of increased interest in a solution like yours.

Especially when you’re new to working with Buyer Intent, it’s worth focusing on these high-intent companies. They are usually further along in their decision-making process and more open to an initial conversation.

How to find the right contacts on LinkedIn

When you discover an interesting company in the OMRviewer, simply click the LinkedIn button in the IDcard tab. This takes you directly to a list of LinkedIn profiles of company employees.

For your research, it’s helpful to filter the list by roles typically involved in decision-making processes. Look for titles like:

  • Marketing

  • Demand Generation

  • Growth

  • Sales

  • CMO, VP, or Head of…

This way, you quickly find the people who either make decisions directly or strongly influence the selection process.

Pro tip: The list often includes former employees. Make sure to select only those currently working at the company.

How to craft your outreach

Instead of directly mentioning their activity on OMR Reviews, it’s often more effective to offer helpful resources related to the content they’ve engaged with.

Tailor your message based on:

  • The person’s role and responsibilities

  • Related content they may have consumed on OMR Reviews (e.g., specific articles in the ContentHub)

  • Current industry topics or challenges

Rather than jumping straight into a sales pitch, provide valuable content that supports their decision-making and position yourself as a thought leader.

Bonus: Expand your outreach beyond a single message

LinkedIn outreach doesn’t have to stop at one message. Especially for high-intent leads, additional formats and tools are worth considering:

  • Sales Navigator for structured outreach sequences

  • Testimonial campaigns featuring relevant customer stories

  • Content sharing via LinkedIn posts or InMail

  • Custom audiences for targeted ads based on intent data

This creates a holistic outreach approach that intelligently connects high-intent signals from the OMRviewer with your own sales and marketing activities.
